A week passed by in the Philippines and we have already seen quite a few things. Third destination for the chickens and their friends, Bohol Island. Waking up shortly before dawn, an hour of taxi to cross Cebu Island from west to east and here is the discovery that our 8h ferry does not exist!
Philippines, let the island season begins!
After four months of travel mainly in the land to eat the bus, train and discover more beautiful places than others, it is time for chickens to start the SEASON OF THE ISLANDS !!!!
Yes this part of the trip will also hope to delight you as much as you get excited because we plan to show you landscapes of dreams!
Singapore, quick city break
It’s been four months since we left, it’s a good time to take a breath of fresh air. That’s good, Singapore is right on our way. It is said to be one of the greenest and liveliest cities in the world. The icing on the cake, a couple of French friends will also be there, Charlotte and Charlie. So let’s see that!
Myanmar – Approved by the chickens
Myanmar is undoubtedly one of our favorites stage of this world tour. If you are looking for authenticity, adorable Burmese population, beautiful and photogenic landscapes all over the country, do not hesitate! So we give you here our favorite spots and activities during our stay, there are many!
Life on stilts is even better at Inle Lake
Our last week in Myanmar is in the center-east of the country, in the heart of Shan State. We already know the Shans community a little, since we met them on the other side of the border in Thailand. Cultures and traditions do not stop at administrative boundaries and that’s what is nice to discover.
New year at the heart of Myanmar
After Bagan, we decide to join Mandalay by bus (with JJ Express our favorite company), the main city of northern Myanmar, and discover its surroundings. We quickly discover that Mandalay is as spread over as Yangon. The decision to rent scooters for the day was adopted unanimously.
Myanmar or the pure beauty
We arrive in the midst of school holidays (three months here, not bad for a summer break) and we meet a lot of local tourists from all over the country. Westerners are very rare, and we quickly become the attraction during our visits.
Vietnam – Approved by the chickens
Our Vietnamese getaways have led us to enjoy a thousand and one delicacies. It would be endless to draw you the list! However, here are some of our favorites in the country of the conical hat, enjoy!
Halong bays, between land and sea
After more than three months in the land, it was time to revisit the coast that we both missed. We are heading to Cat Ba Island, an alternative (still somewhat) unknown to discover Halong Bay.
Vietnam, from city to mountain, nothing to get Hanoi-ed at
The chickens are back on the play on words game!
After a bus ride (for a change), we experience a seamless crossing of the border. How pleasant it is not to have to negotiate the amount of corruption during a customs passage! We are entering our third month of travel, and we are now in Vietnamese soil for three short weeks. We decide to limit ourselves to the north of the country, considered less touristy; Vietnam is so vast, and the distances to be traveled by bus pretty long.
