Audrey — Female chicken
It is difficult to talk about yourself, especially when your dear readers are family and friends, know you by heart and are able in to define you in a couple of minutes!
So for a change, I will, for you my dear readers, try to describe myself:
- My personality traits: all over the world and forever: clumsy, organized, in love, unable of not having the wanderlust, temperamental, sensitive, food lover.
- My childhood dream: build bridges all over the world, well, it’s a not really going to happen so at least I will cross them travelling!
- My expectations over this experience: discover the world, allow myself to let go and try to slow down a bit on to-do-lists, taste as much local gastronomy as possible fine gourmet that I am!
- My big fears about this trip: hurt myself (as clumsy as I am), and watch Ben hunt for flies for hours before going to sleep.
- My guilty pleasures: eat, drink, eat, drink, eat, drink (responsibly of course mom!), and travel (that’s good, you’ll tell me!).
- My state of mind two months before the Grand Voyacheeee: excited, impatient with this strange feeling of being stuck in a waiting room, very relativistic by punctuating each one of my meetings at work with the sentence “oh you know, for me it’s fine” …
… Eager to tell you our story!
Benjamin — Male chicken
I know myself perfectly, so it’s even easier to introduce myself. In a few words, I am a mix of simplicity, kindness, refinement, altruism and quick-witted, all sprinkled with a touch of mischief. A man as one sees it too seldom will you say to me, and you are perhaps not so far from the truth. What sets me apart from the greatest men of the world with whom I am generally compared with is my capacity for self-criticism. Take for proof these few lines scribbled between two questions about the meaning of life:
- My personality traits: a whimsical strand, the eye often sparkling and always ready to make people laugh. It offsets my perfectionist delusions and my teasing habits.
- My childhood dream: small, I dreamed of having a motorcycle and a very beautiful woman. Mixed result; I sold my motorcycle to finance this trip but it will be with a stunning woman.
- My expectations over this experience: meet Denis Brogniart in Koh Lanta and beat him on the post game. If this is not happening, I will already be satisfied to discover cultures and places sometimes at odds with what makes my daily today, to take a step back on the small bothers.
- My big fears about this trip: mainly failing to let myself go and trying to plan and control where it will not be worth it.
- My guilty pleasures: the sausage, but I doubt to find out of the territory.
- My state of mind two months before the Grand Voyacheeee: impatiente and serene at the same time. Rather happy to see that we are in time compared to what we had planned but also a little sceptical about the weight of my backpack …
I cannot wait to be there!
But why “the chickens”?
And why not?
